I was walking down South Congress one night with one of my girlfriends and her aunt, who was in from Minnesota, and we came across this big shimmering truck with a giant cupcake on it. Naturally, my eye caught the giant cupcake. I turned to my friend and said, “OMG your aunt has to try ‘Hey Cupcake’ before she goes back home!”
You would think that having lived in Austin my whole life, that I’d had a cupcake here at least a thousand times, but sadly, thats not the case. But of course, I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about these cupcakes. My Uncle, also a cupcake fan, had told me many times that I “..absolutely have to try their cupcakes!”
So, here we go, we make our way to the window and I have absolutely no idea what to get, because I’d never been there and had no idea what to expect. I let my friend and her aunt order first, while I stared down their list of cupcakes. Its quickly my turn to order, and without thinking I say “Can I have your ‘Pumpkinator’ please?” (BTW The “Pumpkinator” is a seasonal flavor)
We sit quietly for a second and stare at each others cupcakes. They looked absolutely amazing. So here we all are, about to take our first bite. We take the bite, and sit there in awe.
Heres what happened, when I took that first bite my eyes automatically shut and I began to make all kinds of wierd moans and groans. My close friends know I make crazy wierd sounds when im REALLY enjoying something, so while my friend is laughing at me, her aunt gives me a very concerned look. “Is she OK? Whats wrong?” she asks. I look at her, unable to answer becuase ive got half the cupcake in my mouth, and my friend simply says,
“Shes just really enjoying that cupcake.”
